Until adopting a rescue puppy recently, I had no idea of the quality of animal emergency care here in Augusta. I would very much like to share the events following an unfortunate accident one evening resulting in an injured rear leg for this sweet puppy.
Relatively new to the area, and like most things you have not heard until you have a need for it, I had no clue where to go after hours. I checked the phone book, called and immediately drove the injured pup to Augusta Animal Emergency Center.
We were met by the kindest, most professional team I could ever have imagined.
The puppy was diagnosed with a broken tibia and spent six weeks in a cast, often checked by this wonderful team. Even when a small complication arose, this ever-patient, ever-compassionate team took wonderful care of this dear puppy.
How wonderful to know such a place exists in Augusta! From that very first panicked call on Aug. 26 to the puppy finally being released a couple of weeks ago, I am indebted to such compassionate caring people.
Dr. George Runnels and his team are outstanding professionals and the standard of care beyond excellent. How lucky for all the four-legged creatures in the Augusta area!
