Boating course

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxillary and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold an About Boating Safety course Saturday at the Thurmond Dam Visitors Center. The seven-hour course costs $35 for individuals and $50 for families. RV and boat show

The inaugural CSRA RV and Boat Show will be from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at Wildwood Park in Appling. For information, including vendor spaces, call Jeb Bell at (706) 541-3761, or e-mail jbell@columbiacountyga.gov.

Softball qualifier

USSSA Southeast Military Softball Program will hold a regional qualifier May 9-10 at Diamond Lakes Park. The tournament will feature men's varsity A, B, and intramural and women's varsity softball. The entry fee is $245. Registration is open until May 3. Military, retirees, Department of Defense, dependents and military contractors are eligible to participate. Golf tournaments

Greenbrier Middle School will hold a golf tournament May 9 at Bartram Trail Golf Course. It costs $75 for adults and $45 for age 13 and under. Space is limited to 128 players. For information, call (706) 650-6080 or visit www.gmswolfpack.com.

Umpires sought
